How a signal filter can help your Tachometer read properly
If your tachometer seems to have a bouncing needle, only seems to work in a small range, or floats on acceleration, a Tachometer Filter just may solve the problem.
What the Tachometer circuit board does: The tachometer circuit board counts pulses. If those pulses coming from the ignition system are too noisy, noisy meaning voltage spikes and extra signals, the circuit board will see more, less, or uneven pulses.
What a Tachometer Signal Filter does: The filter filters out electrical noise, voltage spikes and surges.
How will a Tachometer Signal Filter affect your ignition system: It will not affect your ignition system. It is a passive device that simply filters the out going signal to the tachometer.
How will a Tachometer Signal Filter affect your tachometer: It will protect it from high voltage spikes that could reduce the life of your tachometer.
How can you get a hold of a Tachometer Signal Filter? We have a low cost Tachometer Signal Filter available.
Final thoughts: A tachometer signal filter will not fix a faulty tachometer, tachometer circuit board, ignition module, or wiring problems. A proper diagnostic check to these components is the only way to know what is causing tachometer readout issues.
